Join the VMCL for our monthly advocates call, where we share updates, reflect on the current political climate, and hear from community members about the issues they’re most concerned about.

INTERFAITH TRIALOGUE IN SOUTHSIDE AND BON AIR AREA
Please join over 12 houses of worship in the Bon Air and Southside area, including the Islamic Center of VA, for their 19th Annual Interfaith Dialogue in 2025. This year dialogue will focus on the topic of “Navigating Fear and Hope in Challenging Times”.
The aim of the dialogue is to deepen mutual understanding and appreciation between the three Abrahamic religious communities. All events are free and open to the public. The events start at 6:15 pm and end at 8:00 pm. Free parking and refreshments will be available.

1st session: May 8th, 2025, Bon Air Christian Church (2071 Buford Road, Richmond, Virginia 23235)
2nd session on May 15th, 2025, Islamic Center of VA (1241 Buford Road, Richmond VA 23235)

VA Muslim Attorneys Social
The VMCL is hosting a networking social for Muslim attorneys in the Richmond area. We’ve received several requests for legal services and guidance, so we’re hoping this social will serve as the first step in building a network of Muslim attorneys for the community to utilize.

In a climate of hate, fear, Islamophobia, deportation, and cancellation of student visas, it’s more important that ever to stay informed.

Muslims Against Henrico Gambling
Rosie's gambling parlor is coming to Henrico - within walking distance from Masjid al-Falah - and with it the potential for crime, indecency, and negative economic impact. State Senator Schuyler VanValkenburg has been outspoken in his criticism of Rosie's parent company, Colonial Downs, and is hosting a community meeting with Brookland District Supervisor Dan Schmidt to hear the concerns of Henrico Residents.

In partnership with Masjid Bilal, we are hosting an early voting rally at Richmond City Hall. Afterwards, the Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy is providing food for those who vote.
